Debra has spent her life in Cairns and Brisbane and now lives in beautiful North Qld once again.  Whilst enjoying art in high school, it was not until 2000 that she picked up a pencil and started drawing again.  Art classes inspired a passion for painting which remained a hobby in between full-time work and busy family life.

Life changes in 2014 opened up opportunities to scale back the working life and spend more time on pursuing her painting.  Moving to Cardwell in 2015 has and will enhance this even further.

“I have a great love of the beach and water particularly in the tropics.  This is reflected in many of my paintings to date being illustrations of places I have travelled to and loved.

“It is important to me that my paintings mean something – a memory, a future place to visit or just a happy moment.    We live in a wonderful part of the world in North Qld and I’m sure the amazing landscapes and wildlife in the Cassowary Coast area will feature in future works”

Deb recently won Mission Arts 5th Anniversary Award for her painting of Hill Inlet, Whitsundays.

Exhibition October 9th -  November 8th
