The Magic of Mission comes to Cardwell

On display in Cardwell Library foyer until 30th November

Following the very successful "MAGIC of MISSION BEACH" exhibition at Mission Arts, Cardwell Gallery is very pleased to present an abridged travelling version as part of our monthly Library Foyer exhibitions.  With limited exhibition space, regrettably we could not bring the entire display but think we have captured a truly representative version of the original.

The project comprised both a writing competition and an art exhibition and attracted entrants from residents and visitors with several interstate contributions.  The collection of short stories and poems was published in booklet form with the featured cover artwork, Tropical Wonderland, by Mission Beach artist Jennifer Payne also on display in this exhibition. The book is on display with Mission Arts also providing some little excerpts from the book to whet your appetite, which we have included on the wall!

The exhibition will be in the Library Foyer until November 30^th. 

We really do live in a unique environment here on the Cassowary Coast and the Gallery invites you to come and experience this insight into how people see and perceive life in the tropics and, specifically in this case, Mission Beach.

This is the first of what we hope to be many collaborations with other artists and galleries in the region broadening our audiences and keeping both tourists and locals aware of the extraordinary talent which abounds.
